Course focusing on approaching single family residential design as both an art and a science. Introduction to the laws governing each of these system dynamics: The flow of heat, The flow of air, The flow of moisture Part one of a three-part series.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify the major directional flows of energy and material
  • Describe one or more of the problems and solutions that arise in the house-system due to the dynamics of heat
  • Describe the 'art' and 'science' aspects of residential home design
  • Describe the basic dynamics of heat flow (residential thermodynamics)
