Course Description:

A program designed to provide an over view of Bituminous Membrane roofing systems. At the end of this program the participants will be able to define low slope roofs, describe the different types of low slope bituminous roof systems, identify basic design considerations for low slope roof systems and identify material performance standards and code approvals for roofing materials.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Define a low slope roof
  • Describe two types of bituminous roof systems
  • Describe the components of a low slope roof, and some of the additional elements that make up a low slope roof assembly
  • Identify some of the criteria for specifying bituminous roof systems for both nailable and non-nailable decks
  • Describe some of the relevant performance standards and code approval bodies
